Accidents during various Lifting Operations on board, are not uncommon. This course is to familiarize the ship’s Officers with concepts of Rigging and Lifting Operations on board, related Safe Working Practices on board, Company’s general guidelines on the same, and to make them aware and familiar with techniques of hazard identification and operation of various Lifting appliances, so that they are able to take the appropriate measures and safeguards to minimize the risk of an accident during a Lifting Operation.
