The aim of this course is to train Masters / Deck officers in the Ship-to-Ship LPG transfer procedures and emphasizes the critical points that must be noted if accidents are to be avoided right through all the key stages, from earliest preplanning to the final unmooring and separation.

Key topics covered in this course are:
1. Ship Handling Principles
2. Emergency Manouveres
3. Thorough preparation and checking of all equipment well in advance. pre-planning of mooring arrangements including fendering systems.
4. Use of OCIMF / SIGTTO Guidelines to ensure safe and trouble free operation, ship handling principles and emergency manners
5. The use of approved Ship to Ship Transfer Plan and Check Lists at all stages
6. The preparation of contingency plans and their activation in case necessary.
7. Shiphandling and Manoeuvring to come alongside / carry out STS operation in different scenarios.
