Course Name:	BRIDGE TEAM MANAGEMENT– LEVEL 1
Entry Criteria:	3/O, 2/O
Course Duration:	5 Days 40 Hours

Course Description:

This course is to provide practical knowledge to navigating watch keeping officers on the application of Collision Avoidance Regulations, to effectively manoeuvre a vessel in heavy traffic areas and prevent close quarter situations and collisions. The navigating officer shall gain confidence in keeping independent bridge watches.

Contents of the Course:

Familiarization with the ship’s “Manoeuvring Data”.

The importance of calling the Master.

Importance of Look out and Safe speed.

Conduct of vessel in coastal areas, Traffic Separation Scheme and in restricted visibility.

Practical application of International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972.

Bridge Team Management and proper use of human resources.

Use of navigational aids including charts, publications, radar, ARPA, GPS, VHF, AIS, auto-pilot, etc. and their limitations.
